I think the reason michael dosn’t get fired it for the sake of the show, he IS the main character. Not to say that could have a part in the plot where he gets fired and we follow him outside of Dunder Mifflin, then he gets re-hired. I reckon they are making a point that not all bosses are wise just because they’re boss -> I think Michael has the capacity to do his job, he just chooses to goof around because maybe he is bored? Anyway, this is just me rambling…

Above any episode, I believe this one shows Michael’s lack of education. I wonder what they were aiming for? Exactly how uneducated is he supposed to be. I also wonder if they aren’t taking potshots at people who are promoted just because they will work for hardly anything and are content to stay in a boring job. I mean Michael’s character can’t seem to do anything to get fired.
